These scones are delicious and light, adding whipped cream and good quality jam, they are a real afternoon treat

Cooking Steps
- 1whisk your egg and buttermilk
- 2Put your self raising flour, butter and baking powder into a bowl or a quicker version use a food processor - with your finger tips crumble the butter into the flour to create a crumble style mixture
- 3Add the caster sugar and stir or pulse in the processor
- 4Then slowly add the buttermilk and egg mixture (saving some for glazing the top) mixing to create a dough that is not too sticky (if it is to sticky add more flour)
- 5For a rough and ready scone, shape into a ball in your hands and put on a baking sheet or air fryer liner then glaze with the remaining buttermilk mixture
- 6Bake on 190 degrees for between 12-15 mins until the tops are golden and the bottoms when tapped sound hollow
- 7Enjoy with cream and jam - yummy
