Greek gyros with homemade flatbread

Ingredients

  • 400G low fat natural yoghurt
  • 400g self raising flour - plus extra for dusting
  • 2 tsp of baking powder
  • olive oil spray
  • For the garlic butter
  • 2 cloves of crushed garlic
  • tbsp of olive oil
  • 1 tsp of italian seasoning or freshly chopped parsley

Air Fryer flatbreads are so easy to make and so versatile, they can be served on their own with garlic, made into an accompaniment for a main dish or made to use Pizza. Quicker than ordering a takeaway pizza and a lot healthier for your pocket and waste

Rustle up some homemade flatbreads to enjoy with your favourite curry, greek Gyros or loaded like a pizza with your favourite toppings

Cooking Steps

    Put all the ingredients for the flatbreads in a bowl add a good pinch of salt and cracked black pepper. Using a fork mix all the ingredients together to form a dough, add olive oil if needed to bring it together until you have a soft manageable dough

    Tip the dough onto a floured surface and knead for 1 minute until smooth. Divide the dough into 8 equal portions for flatbreads or 3 for low fat pizza dough. Dust the work surface again with a little extra flour, then roll each portion into a circle 5mm thick, this will ensure a nice pillowy flatbread however, if you go thinner your flatbread will be deliciously crisp. Note when rolling, keep moving ad turning your dough to stop the dough from tearing, if your dough is sticking to the rolling pin sprinkle with more flour

    Mix the garlic and olive oil, brush each flatbread with the garlic olive oil. If you are using as a pizza add your favourite toppings

    Set your air fryer to 200 degrees then add your flatbread, will take about 5 mins to become golden however, each air fryer will cook at different times. Just keep checking them and you will know when they are ready for you
