Ingredients

  • A pack of 250g button mushrooms chopped or sliced
  • 1/4 of an diced onion
  • 1 cup white wine or brandy to flame
  • 1 tsp of dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp of smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon of italian seasoning
  • 3 crushed garlic cloves or fine slices
  • 1 cube of either vegetable, beef or chicken stock cube
  • 270ml of double cream mixed with a splash of milk

Top Tips

This sauce can be watered down with milk to make a delicious soup for lunches or it can be used as it is on steak, chicken or vegetables – delicious either way!!!

This mushroom sauce is a great way to batch cook, it can be used on a variety of meats and soups but also can be frozen for delicious lunch time soup

Cooking Steps

    Chuck everything into the pan and cook for 30 mins - it's ready!!!!

    If you want to show off and flambe - add onion, garlic and sauté once the pan is really hot add the brandy swirl to heat the brandy slightly then light. Then you can add all the other ingredients

    If you want to turn this sauce into soup just blend and it is delicious or keep 1 half as it is and the other half blend then add more milk to loosen to look and taste more like soup
